Is the app free?

Yes. What A Team is completely free with no in-app purchases, no ads, and no subscriptions.

How do I create a team?

Sign in with Apple or Google, then tap “Create a Team” on the welcome screen. Pick a name, an emoji, your team’s core values, and a season length. You’ll get a 6-character invite code to share with your teammates.

How do my teammates join?

Share your team’s 6-character invite code with them. They install the app, sign in, tap “Join a Team”, and enter the code.

How many people can be in a team?

The app is designed for small teams of 2 to 20 people. There’s no hard limit, but the experience is optimized for groups where everyone knows everyone.

What’s a “High Five”?

A High Five is a quick, meaningful note you send to a teammate when they do something that lives one of your team values. It includes the value, the recipient, and a short message. Each person has a limited number per week to keep them meaningful.

Can I edit my team’s name, values, or season?

Yes — the team creator can edit the team name, emoji, values, season end date, and weekly High Five limits at any time from the Team Settings screen.

What happens to old High Fives if a value is removed?

They stay in the activity feed and history. The value just becomes unavailable for future High Fives.

Can I change my name?

Yes. Tap the pencil icon next to your name on the Profile tab. To prevent abuse, names can only be changed once per week.

What data does the app collect?

Only what’s needed to make the app work: your display name (from Apple or Google), your team membership, and the High Fives you send and receive within your team. Your email stays in Apple/Google’s sign-in system and is not stored in our database. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no third-party data sharing. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Does the app work on tablets?

The app is designed for phones, but it runs on iPad and Android tablets too — just in a phone-sized layout. A dedicated tablet experience may come in a future update.

Is my data backed up?

Your team data is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud) and is accessible only to members of your team. If you uninstall the app, your data remains in the team — you can sign back in to access it.
