Privacy Policy

Emilio Rios (“we”, “us”, “our”) built Next Coach as a free app. This page describes how the app handles information.

Information We Collect

Next Coach is designed to operate locally on your device. We do not directly collect, transmit, or have access to any personal data.

Data stored on your device

• Whistle preferences — Your chosen whistle sound, color theme, icon style, and volume are saved using standard iOS preferences (UserDefaults). We do not access this data remotely.
• Session plans — Any session plans you create are saved as a local file in the app’s documents directory. We do not access this data remotely.

Note: Data stored on your device may be included in iOS backups (including iCloud backups) based on your device settings. This is managed by iOS, not by us.

Apple Music

Next Coach uses Apple’s MusicKit framework to play music during cue games. When you grant Apple Music access:

• The app requests permission to play media through Apple Music on your device.
• Track metadata (song title, artist, artwork) is fetched from Apple’s servers through MusicKit.
• The app plays specific tracks that are pre-configured for each cue game. It does not browse or read your personal music library, playlists, or listening history.
• All communication with Apple Music services is handled by Apple’s MusicKit framework. Apple’s own privacy policy governs how Apple processes that data.

Data We Do NOT Directly Collect

To the best of our knowledge, the app does not:

• Collect analytics or usage data
• Use crash reporting services
• Use advertising or ad identifiers
• Require account creation or login
• Access location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone
• Share data with third parties

Third-Party Services

The only external service used by the app is Apple Music, accessed through Apple’s MusicKit framework. We do not knowingly integrate other third-party services that collect user data.

Children’s Privacy

Next Coach does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Next Coach is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all liability for any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Use of the app is at your own risk.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
